The Krakatau Volcano is located in the Sunda Strait, 40km off the West Coast of Java, on the island of Rakata in Indonesia. Krakatoa is one of the volcanoes in the Sunda Volcanic Arc. It was formed by the subduction of the Indian-Australian plate under the Eurasian plate.
